Getting Hooked

Hailing from Pennsylvania, Jeff Lutz got the itch for horsepower when his brother took him to test drive a 1970 Chevy Camaro. After getting behind the wheel, he was hooked and soon began looking for a car of his own.

That car would turn out to be a 1985 IROC-Z Camaro, on which Jeff first cut his teeth with a few minor modifications. The IROC became the catalyst for his ever expanding knowledge on builds.

"I dumped the clutch and let her fly...
I was hooked from there."

Drag Week Champion

Jeff moved from the track to the road, and began participating in Hot Rod Drag Week, where cars are driven 1,000-plus miles on public roads on a trip that includes four drag strips and five races.

Jeff Lutz honed his skills through the years culminating with a 2014 Drag Week win with his "Evil Twin" 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. Not satisfied, he returned with his newly built 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Pro Mod and in 2016 won a second time with a record breaking week-long average of 6.1918 at 240.018 MPH.

Running With The Outlaws

It was at one of his early Drag Week races that Jeff first met Shawn Ellington and Justin Shearer, a relationship that would lead to more exciting builds and intense street races.

Known for his fabrication expertise and knowledge of all things horsepower, both Shawn and Justin sought Jeff to help build rides for their Discovery Channel show Street Outlaws.

After his work on the Murder Nova and The Crow, Lutz became a hired gun for many of the other Street Outlaws who were in the hunt to get to the top of "The List." In addition to being interviewed about the builds, he is also featured on the show, participating in races with his 1969 Camaro, "Mad Max."

"For me there is no other option."
